Announcement
Dec.15th 2020

Dear colleagues,

Welcome to the 14th Asian Congress of Neurological Surgeons (ACNS) meeting located in Shanghai in 2022. We are looking forward to it for many reasons, such as an opportunity to reconnect with colleagues and friends, as well as a platform for sharing the amazing accomplishments in neurosurgical care, novel technologies, and laboratory research.

Over the past year, despite the COVID-19 pandemic and its unprecedented impacts that have affected many ways including our practice, multiple progress has been achieved in Asian neurosurgical care. The 14th ACNS will not only show great accomplishments to date but also imagine where Asian neurosurgery will be a decade from now. There is no doubt that technology has played a pivotal role in healthcare transformation. Cutting-edge technologies such as augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and artificial intelligence(AI)have made their way into the neurosurgical field. Cloud storage and high-speed transmission enable young neurosurgeons, especially from underdeveloped areas, to receive standardized training. Digitization and data mining approaches facilitate collaborative clinical research from a broader and deeper perspective. With the constant evolution of the neurosurgical technology landscape, neurosurgeons need to be on top of the game and prepared for innovations.

The 14th ACNS 2022 will be held in Shanghai, an exotic, modern, and dynamic place. As one of the world’s most avant-garde cities, Shanghai continuously renewing itself and rapidly expanding. Here we believe diversity drives innovation and inclusion spark creativity.

On behalf of the Chinese Neurosurgical Society and Huashan Hospital Fudan University, I look forward to seeing you in Shanghai, even with masks on, as we will take precautions to help keep our attendees safe.
