Short Report on the 14th ACNS Congress
The 14th Asian Congress of Neurological Surgeons (ACNS) was successfully held in Cairo, Egypt, from December 18 to December 20, 2024. This prestigious event brought together neurosurgeons, researchers, and healthcare professionals from across Asia, North and South America, Europe, and Africa to discuss the latest advancements in neurosurgery.
The congress featured a wide range of topics, including cerebrovascular surgery, neurooncology, endoscopy, minimally invasive surgery, skull base, functional neurosurgery, pediatric, hydrocephalus, trauma, and spine. Renowned experts in the field delivered insightful lectures on cutting-edge research and clinical practices. Special sessions were dedicated to research and innovation, neurosurgical training, nursing, women in neurosurgery, complications, and neurosurgery in Africa and LMIC. Several pre-congress workshops were available: 3D Cambridge neuroanatomy, microvascular anastomosis, endoscopic skull base surgery, ventricular endoscopy, new concepts in minimally invasive spine surgery, cranio-cervical surgery, endoscopic spine surgery, functional neurosurgery, microscopic skull base surgery. The discussions after each presentation fostered engaging dialogues among attendees. The event provided an excellent platform for networking and establishing partnerships between institutions and researchers from different countries. Moreover, participants had the opportunity to experience the rich history and culture of Cairo and Egypt, enhancing the overall congress experience.
The successful organization of the 14th ACNS Congress in Cairo has further strengthened the ACNS community, opened new possibilities of collaboration with other Continental Societies, and paved the way for future advancements in the field.
